Welcome to this calm, quaint and picturesque village located on the banks of the Shannon Estuary. There’s much to see and do here, so give yourself time to look around the amenities and facilities. Worth mentioning is the opportunity to charter a boat in the village for fishing trips in the Shannon Estuary. If you’re lucky, your catch could include skate, conger, lesser and greater dogfish, thornback ray, pollock and flounder to name a few. Origin of Name: Kildysart takes its name from the Irish ‘Cill an Dísirt’, meaning ‘Church of the Wilderness’
