Slap and Tickle, ‘a machine gun of visual joy,’ (writingaboutdance), is a dark ribald physical commentary featuring Liz Aggiss – a maverick, anarchic, indomitable and fearless performance artist, who, with ‘refreshing irreverence,’ (theatrebubble) litters the stage in a disorientating display of interpretations and received contradictions about women, girls, mothers and pensioners. This feminist soup ‘drenched in raucous, uninhibited humour,’ (seeingdance), lurches from spoken word to expressionist movement: music hall to radio nostalgia: costume change to prop manipulation.
Slap and Tickle won a Total Theatre Award Edinburgh Festival 2017.
