Mary MacNamara Sorcha Costello and Geraldine Cotter:
Mary’s style of music is deeply set in the mellow rhythm and swing of east Clare. Her daughter Sorcha Costello has been playing music with Mary since before Sorcha can remember. Sorcha has inherited much of the east Clare style and while, like her mother, she has been acclaimed mostly as a solo musician both combined recently to release a duet album “The Lady’s Cup of Tea” described by Frankie Gavin as “Sincere, hypnotic and an overall delight”. Mary and Sorcha will be accompanied by Dr. Geraldine Cotter. Geraldine Cotter is a tin whistle and piano player, teacher and researcher, currently lecturing in Mary Immaculate College, Limerick. Geraldine is in great demand and she has recorded on over 20 albums including her solo album.

Under the leadership of the dynamic and irrepressible flute and whistle champion, Joanie Madden, Cherish the Ladies create a performance that includes a spectacular blend of virtuoso instrumental talents, beautiful vocals and captivating arrangements. The band will be joined by special guest Don Stiffe. Don is one of the most recent singer/songwriters to emerge on the Irish Folk Scene.

Martin’s soulful interpretations of traditional Irish music are recognised the world over for their exquisite musicality and irresistible rhythm. He has toured and recorded with guitarist Dennis for over twenty years. Dennis has created a guitar style with a very precise use of rhythm and subtle use of harmonic colourings that amplifies the mood and power of the melodies in new and innovative ways.
