September 11th sees the annual Culture Night throughout Ireland and once again County Clare is to the forefront celebrating cultural activity at local level with free guided tours, music, arts, science workshops, film and literary events happening across the county.
This year, 15 towns and villages take part with 50 events lined up, starting from 4pm and running ’til late.
Culture Night is brought to you by the Department of Culture, Heritage & the Gaeltacht in partnership with the Arts Office of Clare County Council.

NORTH CLARE EVENTS
FLOOD PLAIN: ARTIST TALK BY SARA FOUST
Foust Gallery, Main St., Ennistymon 4-5pm
Sara Foust will introduce the Flood Plain Exhibition with an artist talk. Flood Plain is a series of paintings of a flooded landscape on the banks of the river Inagh in Ennistymon. Sara will present the series of paintings and examine the themes and techniques explored in this work.

Art exhibitions, artists’ talks, poetry readings, music, weaving demonstrations and an art market on The Square. Come along and explore!
CULTURE NIGHT LAHINCH

Highlighting the artists and music of Lahinch and the county, the Wild Atlantic Women Artists will host an art and craft showing and demonstrations.
BEGINNERS SPOON CARVING WORKSHOP WITH ÉAMONN O’ SULLIVAN
The Courthouse Gallery & Studios, Ennistymon 4.30-9pm
Learn the skills needed to create a spoon from scratch. A great introduction to axe and knife work. Raw materials and tools provided.
INIS DIOMÁIN COMHALTAS OPEN AIR SEISIÚN
The Square, Ennistymon 7pm – 8pm
Music, dance, song and storytelling performed by members of the Inis Diomáin branch of Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann.
SPINNING A YARN!
Stack, Main St., Ennistymon 7-9pm
Local storyteller Eamon de Staic recites tales drawn from stories written by the late Eddie Stack, who grew up in the building, Stacks. Weaver Jean Moran will spin and weave.
Falls Hotel, Ennistymon 7.30-10.30pm
Ruairí Ó Conchúir’s multi-media intergenerational photography exhibition, film screening, illustrated presentation and discussion on documentary photography with a focus on Dorothea Lange’s work.
BODY OF WATER OPERA
Doolin Cave, Doolin 8-9pm
Body of Water, a segment of a new Electro Acoustic Opera set in Doolin in 1968 with music by Dermott Petty and lyrics by Joan O Hanrahan.
