Based on a true story, this one man, multi award winning theatrical musical comedy recounts the journey of an Irish fiddle player as he wanders across the globe encountering much craic and many musical genres with some trouble and strife in the mix, until he eventually finds sobriety (and jazz!) along the road.
But behind the laughs and music is the story of a man deep in the grip of alcoholism and drug abuse, and his eventual triumph against them. A mixture of traditional Irish storytelling, music and stand-up, Galway entertainer Aindrias de Staic enlivens his traveler’s tales with poetry and, according to where he is supposed to be in the world at any given moment, Irish, Italian, Greek and gypsy music, jazz, violin and Australian convict songs.
