Visit Kilmacduagh, an ancient centre of religious renown in South Galway. As an ancient monastery Kilmacduagh is less known than Clonmacnoise on the Shannon; nevertheless it was a very important religious site over one thousand years ago. Explore the extensive ruins with Jackie Queally, your local guide. After sharing legends of the site author and healer Jackie will focus on sharing her knowledge of its earth energies. Her book Spirit of the Burren has a whole chapter dedicated to the round tower there. It is Ireland’s tallest round tower!
As a teacher of dowsing she will demonstrate the art of dowsing the energies there. (Dowsing is often known as divining in Ireland.) Dowsing indicates changes in the electro-magnetic fields of the earth and people often realise through dowsing that they have an innate ability to sense these invisible energies. Time just flies when engaged in dowsing!
After a demonstration and introductory talk we can explore the interiors of the buildings, using dowsing rods to detect any earth energies.
At the round tower, discover why the monks may have built so many of these round towers by their monasteries and churches.
Then using a ground plan guests can sketch their initial findings and compare it with the guide’s findings. This may spur some lively discussion and sharing of experiences to conclude. Be prepared to be blown away (not literally!).
