Cafe Linnalla Ice Cream is based just off the Flaggy shore in north Clare and was nominated by failte Ireland as one of the 50 secrets of the Wild Atlantic way. The cafe serves delicious, farm-fresh ice cream made from the milk of its shorthorn cows that can be seen grazing in the surrounding fields. A large selection of flavours is available, with many of the ingredients sourced locally such as wild Burren hazelnuts. The range of flavours includes: vanilla, honeycomb, wild blackberry, apple pie, rum and raisin, mint choc chip, strawberry, raspberry and many, many more.
The cafe has a large selection of cones to choose from – or why not treat yourself to a Ice cream Sundae, banana boat or a knickerbocker glory? Teas, coffee, and a selection of mouth-watering cakes and desserts are also served. There is both indoor and outdoor seating, with spectacular views of Galway Bay – and there is also a playground for children. A picnic basket service is available on request – as well as a guided foraging coastal walk or a farm tour, all of which include an ice cream treat.
If you’re walking the Flaggy Shore and taking in the beauty of this wild and amazing coastline – be sure to stop here for an ice cream and a cup of coffee.
