If you want to help ‘Share Clare with the World’, use our County Clare virtual backgrounds on your Zoom video calls. We have a link to a selection below (and will be adding others).
You’ve almost certainly heard of Zoom, one of the leading video conferencing software apps in the world. It allows individuals and businesses to virtually interact with others when meeting in-person isn’t possible.
With the COVID-19 coronavirus wreaking havoc across the world, Zoom has become an increasingly important tool for friends, families and business colleagues, enabling them to meet virtually on video via desktops or mobile devices. Zoom has free and paid plans (the free plan allows you to have unlimited one-on-one meetings and even host meetings of up to 100 people).
On Zoom, you can use our County Clare photos as your virtual backgrounds. We have sized them to work correctly. It’s fun, but it’s also a way to ‘Share Clare with the World’, particularly now when those you are in contact with on Zoom cannot visit. Our backgrounds are also impressive – you can sit with the magnificent Cliffs of Moher behind you, or the Burren, or the Loop Head Peninsula, or Inis Cealtra – Holy Island, or a choice of many others.
It’s a way to support Clare, express yourself, and maybe even hide what’s normally behind you!
Tip #1 – have friends use them too: If you know of anyone from Clare, living in Ireland or abroad, encourage them to use the Clare Zoom backgrounds too (so that they feel at home). Similarly, if you know anyone who is not from Clare, but who wishes they could be here, they are also free to use them!
Tip #2 – mind the cat!: If you tend to gesture a lot, or rock in your chair, or if a cat lands on your lap during your Zoom call, your caller may notice breaks in the virtual background behind you. Don’t worry, these image breaks resolve quickly.
