The picturesque village of Quin is a peaceful village with a small population. Quin is rapidly developing into a tourist hub.  It is very popular with fishermen who wish to fish all year round on the River Rine. Quin also has developed a popular equestrian industry with a number of stud farms around the village. There is also a rich array of historical gems that attracts many visitors. Quin boasts the best preserved abbey in the Shannon region. The abbey is adjacent to the 13th century gothic style church where many visitors can climb the spiral staircase and revisit how the monks lived and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

In recent years Knappogue Castle has underwent restoration and is opened for viewing between April and October. You can sample medieval banquets in the main part of the castle between May and October. Further south lays Craggauneown which recreates the reconstruction of ancient homes in the crannog and ring fort.
