The Greyhound Bar is situated in the main street of the sea-side Victorian town of Kilkee.

This Site was in the Ownership of The Collins Family since 1890. Originally built here, was a single storey bar and Chemist. In 1934 it was knocked and rebuilt as the two-storey building you see today.

The bar that is here now is much the same; the building featured a Chemist to the left and the bar to the right. If you stand outside the bar and look at the sign it has two arrows, one pointing to the bar, the other to the chemist. I have been told that the bar was smaller and only occupied the tiled area as you walk in through the main door. Those tiles incidentally were laid by Italians who were on the run from Mussolini and Fascism circa 1934/5. Similar tiles are found in Crotty’s of Kilrush.

We love to provide you with thick creamy pints of stout, crisp bubbly lagers, zest white wines and velvety reds; also we are the first in Kilkee and maybe Munster to provide the public with Millers gin! You have to try it!!

If you like us love to chat and also love your music, then the Greyhound is for you. In the Summer we host large bands in our back yard with free B.B.Q`s and inside we have some really excellent 2 or 3 piece acoustic sessions that entertain but do not over power you.
