In a relaxed and informal atmosphere learn the fascinating art of felt making with textile artist Suzanne Mcculloch. During this weekend workshop, you will design and create your own pair of slippers and a handbag using the seamless felt making technique. Explore the various different ways of manipulating the wool to embellish your pieces with techniques such as layering, trapping fibres and needle felting, using beautifully soft hand dyed fibres such as Marino and Blue Faced Leicester. Finish off each felted delight with your very own personalised handmade label.
Suzanne Mcculloch holds a BA hons degree in Decorative Arts from Nottingham Trent University. Following her degree, she was awarded a two year artist residency at the Platform Gallery in Lancashire. Since then she has worked as an independent textile artist producing her own range of textiles and also running craft workshops for both adults and children. Suzanne has exhibited her work extensively in galleries such as the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and the Sweet Bella Gallery in New York.
