Welcome to The Caveman - A Unique Weekend of Running and Mountain Biking in Aillwee Cave We are headed to the Aillwee Cave in Ballyvaughan, Co. Clare literally in the heart of the Burren. We will be running and biking on the Burren landscape around the famous caves and will also get the chance to run and ride through the caves themselves.

The event will be held over two days, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October 2011, with two running stages on Saturday and two mountain bike stages on Sunday. The overall winner of The Caveman 2011 will be the competitor with the lowest overall time after all four stages. If you run but don't bike or bike but don't run, don't worry, you can enter the Mountain Running Challenge on Saturday or the Mountain Bike Challenge on Sunday. The event is open to all, whether that's for fun, for a challenge or to win it! If you don't have a bike but want to enter the MTB stages we can supply you with a mountain bike for the Sunday action. Contact Niall Davis from Biking.ie at 087 4176029 to book a bike. Following on from the successful Mountain Bike Challenge - Lough Derg in April 2011, the event organisers, Dolmen Sports, have teamed up again with Biking.ie to bring you this unique and exciting event. We can't wait to get you running and riding through Aillwee Cave this October.
