Music
lovers in Clare will be treated to a very special night of original and unusual
music in Cult
úrlann
Sweeney, Kilkee on Saturday, August 9th, 2014.
Jaskane Café Trio will play a programme of classical and international music
in what promises to be a wonderful night’s entertainment.

Jaskane
Café Trio showcases a unique blend of violin, oboe and guitar, playing a
diverse range of music genres.  The
instrumentation in itself is unusual, and the
performers have a diverse range of influences from classical to
traditional Irish music through to rock and blues.  Oboist Etain McCooey has developed a uniquely
‘Irish’ oboe style, combining her classical oboe training with her knowledge of
Irish whistle style and technique, Karen Kelly plays classical violin, her
performances including orchestral works, chamber music and a particular love
for all tangos Argentine and Jason Noone is a guitarist  and producer with a background in rock, blues
and improvisation.

Jaskane’s
guitarist, Jason Noone gives some insight “We
like to refer to our music as ‘international café music’ as our repertoire
includes the type of melodies and tunes you might hear in the cafes of Milan or
Paris.   It’s a lovely evocative
experience for the listener, we have been getting great feedback from our
audiences to date.  I think people like
to hear something a little more unusual in Clare.  Our programme includes Argentine tangos,
Russian tunes, Finnish waltzes and some contemporary music
.”

The
Jaskane Café Trio showcases a unique blend of violin, oboe and guitar, while
playing an eclectic mix of musical genres and evoking sound of international
café culture
