WW1 Memorial Concert
21 November 2014
20:00 - 22:30
The Clare Peace Park Initiative will be holding the first of their major fundraising events next Friday week, 21st Nov when the will be hosting an evening of well known WW1 era music and poetry as well as a short one act play with a local WW1 story line. The music will be performed by well known sopranos Edel O’Brien and Helen Houlihan, with music performed by Michael Hennessy.
All proceeds from the concert will be going towards the planned WW1 Memorial on Friars Walk Ennis to commemorate all those from Clare who were involved in WW1. The memorial will contain the names of up to 700 from the county who died in the conflict.
Poetry will be recited by Holly Mularkey O’Halloran and the drama has been written specifically for the evening by local playwright Laura Mulcahy. The performance starts at 8pm in St. Columba’s church in Bindon St, Ennis. Tickets are €10 on the door on the night, so I would please ask you to come out on the night to support the effort and bring as many as you can with you. There will also be a living history and WW1 memorabilia exhibition on the night. It promises to be a great nights entertainment.
