Burrenbeo Trust March Walk
03 March 2013
14:00 - 16:30
Carran (or Carron)
March’s Burrenbeo Trust walk will be led by Shane Casey. Growing up on his family’s farm on Blackhead gave Shane a great education on the Burren and its ecology. He went on to study Agricultural and Environmental Science in UCD, followed by Rural Development, focusing on target market analysis for Burren lamb as his dissertation. Before his current position as Clare Biodiversity Officer, Shane worked as an agricultural and environmental advisor in south Galway, and then as a social research officer with Clare County Council. His current role involves education and awareness of biodiversity, both within and beyond the Burren.
The walk will take us up Cappanawalla mountain to have a closer look at the upland winterage. There are great views from the top - bring your cameras!
This walk will include quite a steep climb. Walk starts at 2pm from Cappanawalla.
This walk is open to everyone. However, it is free for Burrenbeo Trust Members and a donation of €5 is suggested from non-members. Please bring good walking shoes and waterproofs if needed. For more information please email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 091 638096.
