Culture Night at the Courthouse Gallery, Ennistymon

An evening celebrating cultural diversity and how it has become part of our everyday experience. And it’s all FREE! Come on down to the friendly Courthouse and enjoy a programme of events and nibbles. All welcome!

7.00pm Official launch of new exhibitions in the Courthouse Gallery with Seriatim, Etchings by Joe Ryan in the Red Couch Space. And in the main gallery, two visual art exhibitions under the banner ‘OTHER LIVES’ by Asylum Archive (photography) + Ian Wieczorek (painting), exploring ideas of identity and social status in contemporary society – how we define ourselves, and how we are defined by others. Opening by Dr.John Mulloy, Lecturer in Art and Critical Theory.

7.30pm Open conversation: artists Asylum Archive and Ian Wieczorek will take part in an open public conversation with Dr John Mulloy about their work. This promises to be a user-friendly, accessible event where the audience will also have the chance to ask their own questions if they wish. 8.00pm Finger food & Refreshments – a yummy break! Ian Wieczorek and Asylum Archive will also be available to do an informal gallery tour of their work.

8.30pm Music bringing together the music of different traditions in a free concert with Los Paddys de la Pampas. Come along, enjoy the craic and widen your horizons...
