We are telling the story of how the first McGraths began here at IslandMcGrath in the 12th century, had their main stronghold here for over 500 years, were the earliest bards, were head abbots in the local abbeys, were bishops for the diocese receiving papal letters from the Vatican, and were the hereditary poets for the O Brien Kings, and provided trained poets to other kings around Ireland.
