Burren in Bloom

Farmers, naturalists, poets and more come together to celebrate the Bloomin’ Burren

The Burren in Bloom Festival returns this year with a series of illustrated talks and organised walks from 19th to 31st May. The Festival, in association with the Burren College of Art and the Burrenbeo Trust, will give people an understanding and appreciation of the Burren and its formation, and how it continues to be a source of great botanical, archaeological, and cultural wealth with its unique wild flowers and ancient sites.

With events on topics ranging from dawn chorus to meadow blooms, from foraging to poetry there is plenty to attract a wide range of people that wish to know more about this intriguing phenomenon. Some key names involved are internationally acclaimed poet Michael Longley, arborist Thomas Pakenham, herbalist Dr Dilis Claire and many more.
