Clare GAA Fixtures

The Clare County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) is one of 32 county GAA boards in Ireland. Clare plays their home games at Cusack Park, Ennis. Clare Gaa teams play in three seperate competitions in a variety of Gaelic games, such as hurling, football, camogie, ladies football and handball.

Clare’s most recent success has come through the triumphs of the men’s senior and under 21’s hurling sides. In 2013, Clare won the ultimate prize in hurling, being crowned All- Ireland hurling champions. They lifted the Liam MacCarthy Cup in front of a crowd of 82,276.

Clare is also home to over 50 local GAA clubs. These clubs range from an Geata Bann GAA club to Wolfe Tones Na Sionna GAA club. These associations are scattered across the county of Clare and play a huge part in their communities even beyond the games they’re involved in. For many Irish people these clubs were the first places they interacted with people from outside their towns and villages in friendly competition. Historically the GAA has always had a influence on Irish life and still to date are hubs for members of parishes to communicate and form community spirit.

Clare is home to one of the founding fathers of the GAA, Michael Cusack. A museum dedicated to Michael Cusack is available to tour in Carron, North Clare.

Clare GAA are also involved in the Cúl Camps for kids that runs through the summer across the county. Here children from between the ages of 6 and 13 can partake in a skills camp in the areas of hurling, football, camogie and handball.

In the true spirit of the GAA and what it stands for in terms of community we advise any queries in relation to any games or upcoming events that you interact with locals whether it be on the streets, bars, shops, etc. they will be more than willing to oblige.

For Information about upcoming GAA events within different localities of Clare you can also refer to the Clare GAA Website.
