In the heart of historical Bunratty, you will find Gallagher’s award-winning Seafood Restaurant. With its thatched roof and old world relaxed charm, you will experience an evening to truly remember. There is a wide range of locally sourced fish, i.e. lobster, oysters, black sole, as well as meat and poultry dishes to add a touch of diversity.
This 18th century country cottage is believed to be originally owned by labourers of the O’Brien clan of Bunratty and Dromoland Castles. It was tastefully restored in 1994 and developed into a restaurant. While the building was modernised, great care was taken to retain the rustic image of days gone by.
In 2010, Gallagher’s Seafood Restaurant was crowned ‘Best Restaurant in Clare’ by the Restaurant Association of Ireland. In 2014, Gallagher’s was again awarded ‘Best Restaurant’ in Clare.
