New Route to France and More Scottish Flights As Aer Arann Announces Summer Schedule for Aer Lingus Regional Services from Shannon

(Wednesday, 1st February 2012) Aer Arann today announced details of its Aer Lingus Regional summer 2012 flight schedule which sees the introduction of a new Shannon-Rennes weekly service and improved frequency on the Shannon-Edinburgh route.

In addition, Aer Arann is to base a second Aer Lingus Regional ATR 72 aircraft at Shannon Airport leading to an increase of 20 Aer Arann staff at the Airport.

Aer Lingus Regional, operated by Aer Arann has a strong presence at Shannon Airport from where it will operate over 30 flights each week on 5 routes this summer including direct UK and Northern France regional services to Manchester, Edinburgh, Birmingham, Bristol and Rennes. Beginning on 9th June the new direct Aer Lingus Regional Shannon-Rennes flights will operate for the summer season up to 1st September. The weekly flights will depart Shannon at 3.30pm every Saturday providing convenient connections to this stunning Northern France holiday destination. Similarly, passengers travelling from France will now have direct access to Ireland’s Atlantic west coast which will enhance tourism in Shannon and its surrounding regions. Flights from Shannon to Rennes start from €45.99 one way including taxes.

From March 25th business and leisure passengers will have even better travel options with the introduction of an improved Aer Lingus Regional Shannon-Edinburgh service offering daily connections to the Scottish capital. Direct flights will depart Shannon at 1045am everyday while the return flight will depart Edinburgh daily at 1240pm.

These timings are ideal for the business passenger who wants to spend a full day in either Edinburgh or Shannon as well as for leisure passengers or sports fans looking for a mid-week or weekend city break.
