The Traditional Music Shop, Doolin was opened by Orla McGovern and Skip Dey in 1986 to provide a venue for local musicians to distribute their recordings and for the sale of locally made instruments. The shop is located in a traditional cottage on Doolin's Fisher Street. Rob at the Celtic T-Shirt shop printed their t-shirts for many years. This design by Michael O'Conner features the Gaelic name of the business and the elegant neck of a fiddle.
The legendary Lisdoonvarna Music Festival is world famous. The event ran annually for 6 years from 1978 to 1983 in the town of Lisdoonvarna in North Clare and featured an incredible list of Irish and International musical acts including, Planxty, Emmylou Harris, John Martyn, Rory Gallagher and Van Morrison. The first t-shirt ever printed by the Celtic T-Shirt Shop was for the 1978 Lisdoonvarna Festival. It was designed by Michael O'Connor who also designed the famous event posters and all six of the festival t-shirts. These are two amongst an army of giants who stand out though the ages of our memories combined.
