imecofarm has plenty to see and do for a few hours on the farm. Feed the farm animals which include Misty, Fudge and Poly our ponies, Dusty, Micky and Bobby our donkies, Fluffy, Sooty, curly and Wooly the sheep, Peppa and George our Kune Kune miniature piggies. Plus all the small animals including Bubble the bearded dragon, a whole family of gerbils, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits and many more. Some of the small animals can be held for taking a picture.

See and understand the educational displays here at imecofarm. We have rainwater harvesting, wind turbines, solar panels all working and supplying water, heat and electricity on the farm, with explanations at the displays. Miscanthus, the carbon neutral energy crop is growing on the farm and we also have small displays showing how hydro power and alternators work. See and read the wind speed.

When you walk through imecofarm you will see a whole variety of biodiversity and wildlife habitats. Farmland, hedgelands, oak and beech forests, wetland areas, and along the river you can see 1000's of areas of natural marshlands all subject to the tide that fills and empties the river channels every 6 hours. Inland is fresh water and the river is salt water, so there is a great variety of mammals and birds, and why not use binoculars to see some. There are a variety of wild birds of prey, including the sparrow hawk, kestral, hen harrier, perigrine falcon, barn owl and long eared owl. The whooper swans migrate to the farm in Winter, and the little egret is living along the marshlands. The farm has a large number of wild pheasants which are often seen and heard as you walk through the farm. The otter , stoat, badger, rabbit, hare, fox and pine martin are among some of the mammals present. Badger sets are easily seen in some of the hedgelands.

We also have many event days with extra activities happening throughout the year. Check our events page on our website . Bring a picnic, as we have plenty indoor and outdoor seating areas.
