Slieve Carran Nature Reserve is just north of the village of Carron and it is a favourite place for local people when visiting the Burren. The nature reserve contains a rich array of flora and fauna as well as historical features such as an old oratory and a fulacht fia. Parking spaces are limited.

This Library was founded in the 1950's with money bequeathed from Dr. William J. Sweeney, Union City, New Jersey whose grandfather was born in Kilkee in 1833.
