The Castle Course is located just opposite the Old Course and although it is not as tough as the Old Course nevertheless it still presents a challenge with cleverly positioned bunkers and water hazards making it an enjoyable expeirence. The Castle Course from time to time hosts golfing events.
The town of Lahinch has often been referred to as the "St. Andrews of Ireland," - for its Old Tom Morris connection and passion for the game by locals. Golf writer George Houghton coined the phrase after his visit in 1964. The Golf Club’s location in the town of Lahinch offers a similarly cozy feeling to that of the home of golf.
