You can fish at either side of the mouth. Ideal fishing is bottom fishing where you can catch bass and flounder using crab and lugworm as bait.

Querrin Pier is approximately 3 kms to the west of Poulnasherry Bay. This is a sandy inlet with a long raised bank on the seaward side. There is a choice of fishing spots here. Fishing off the small pier using lugworm, crab and sandeel produces flounder and occasional bass with the last two hours of the flood being the best period.
