Dromoland Castle, one of Ireland’s finest castle hotels, offers guests the experience of living like landed gentry, surrounded by luxury, beauty, and service. The castle, a magnificent Renaissance structure built in the 16th century is located 8 miles from Shannon International Airport. One of the most famous baronial castles in Ireland, it was the ancestral home of the O’Briens, Barons of Inchiquin who are one of the few native Gaelic Families of Royal Irish blood and direct descendants of Brian Boroimhe (Boru) High King of Ireland in the tenth century.
Refurbished and transformed into a luxury hotel in 1962, it retains priceless reminders of the Castle’s historic past. Splendid woodcarvings and stone statuary, hand-carved paneling, fine antique furnishings surround guests. In 1986 a group of Irish and American Investors purchased the castle and since then continuous investment has ensured it to be one of the most luxurious resort hotels in Europe.
As a golfing retreat, Dromoland is a destination to savour. Dromoland Castle’s Golf course is complemented by a truly unique practice facility which has 10 fully automated Driving Bays, Putting Greens and bunker.
In June 2007 Dromoland Castle opened its doors to The Spa at Dromoland. This hidden gem is located within the Castle walls and has been specially designed for the ultimate spa experience. The Spa consists of 6 treatment rooms, an outside Gazebo with Hydro Pool and much more. The Spa at Dromoland features 2 treatment ranges; the chic Anne Semonin Treatment collection and the Irish product Voya.
Off the course residents and guests can enjoy the health club with its pool Jacuzzi, sauna, Green room bar and FigTree Restaurant.
On the Castle’s 410-acre estate, guests can hunt, fish, ride horseback, golf, play tennis and more.
